Hazard Beach

This is where I was at sunset on New Years Day – up on the central coast of CA near Morro Bay. It’s called Hazard Beach — not because it’s a hazardous place (trust me, it is – those rocks are slippery and sharp), but because the surrounding land was once owned by a fellow named Alexander S. Hazard. He’s the guy that planted a bunch of eucalyptus trees there back around the turn of the century. In 1965 the state of CA bought the land and made it into a state park called Montaña De Oro. It’s a wondrous place, and this is just one small part of it.
