View from Angeles Forest Highway

This is the  context for that sky I posted the other day.  On my way to my super secret spot by the creek, I pulled over to the side of the road (Angeles Forest Highway) and took this photo.  I never seem to make it up there without stopping at least a couple of times.  This is facing in a north-easterly direction – on the side of the highway facing away from the LA basin and not too far past the turn-off from the Angeles Crest Highway SR2.  By this time I was over the crest and totally out of sight of LA.  And believe-it-or-not those mountains are part of the Angeles National Forest.  I had to rework my definition of forest to include shrubs when I moved to California.
