Yucca, #44

Published January 24, 2009

To further illustrate what I was saying about the yucca plant, I decided to post this image of a yucca plant I saw in the spring.  It was blooming and one of it’s blooms withered, fell down, and was speared by the main body of the plant.   Those spears are very sharp and stiff.  I made the mistake of touching one, and it drew blood; this plant is serious about self protection.  This one was up in the mountains above LA.
